Description

Short-eared Owl (Asio flammeus)

This Short-eared Owl is sitting on an old telephone pole and finished in an antique oak frame made into a glass case.

Short-eared owls are one of the most uncommon UK taxidermy owls due to their main habitat being moorland.  Very occasionally do we ever come across or get one handed in.  This particular one was hit along the A66 road near Stainmore.
