Description
Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus)
The bird was mounted standing on one leg and scratching its head with one eye showing a nictitating membrane that often flashes across the eye when a bird is preening.
Derek Frampton won the UK bird taxidermy competition with this bird by a clear mile in 1981. It is a major historical mount in the world of taxidermy and definitely one of the most groundbreaking pieces of taxidermy of the time.
It is in a sizeable case, but it can be easily removed or a smaller case made without the materials surrounding the inner base.
Case Dimensions:
Length 103cm
Depth 55.5cm
