Sending items via Post or Couriers

As a general rule, I do not arrange for deliver as most couriers do not insure any part of the shipment. As a result, I am unable to accept any liability for loss or damage of items sent to you.

I have used :-
Amtrack who flat refused to send two flesh deer heads after they arrived at their depot and failed to tell me
interlink Express who lost a very large item and offered no compensation or help to recover the item
UPS also do not insure taxidermy / art works / sculptures

It would therefore be preferable that all items are collected personally or you arrange for your own courier to collect - I am half a mile off the A1/M1 between York and Leeds.

If you do insist that I arrange for delivery, this will strictly be on the basis that any loss or damage will be incurred by yourselves - I will of course ensure that the items are carefully packaged and provide proof of posting for which a packing charge will be levied. The Post Office will be used for items to be sent within the UK.

If you are interested in importing an item, below are examples of past shipments to give you a rough idea as to costs:

• Secretary Bird to Greece £190 by air freight service (May 2005)
• Rhino Head to Miami Florida £554.00 by air freight service (June 2005)
• Elephant Head to California £565.98 by sea freight service or £878.50 by air freight service (June 2005)
• Elephant Heads x2 to California £783.45 by sea freight service or £1361.00 by air freight service (June 2005)

NB The above includes the crate and is based on despatch by door-to-door air freight service; it excludes insurance and any customs clearance, duties and taxes in the country of destination.
